HENYŌ SEED MEDITATION
Emotional transmutation for clarity and compassion
Overview
Crafted by Kůra Růka as a signature holistic offering intended to be both a meditation technique and a deep introspective experience, Henyō 変容 (“transformation,” “change”) is a simple practice that focuses on transmuting afflictions that color human existence. It is an invitation to reconnect with our heart-essence while honoring our latent potential through the exploration of the multilayered nature of impermanence. By transforming emotional energy into wisdom, we seek to create an environment conducive to the emergence of a new pathway and reality, free from suffering, past hindrances, and limiting paradigms, mindfully engaging our being on both psychological and spiritual levels through contemplation, visualization, self-awareness, and eco-spirituality. By influencing the seven layers of existence (body, breath, mind, intellect, memory, ego, self), the practice of Henyō Seed Meditation leads to the blossoming of deep and profound understanding of the true nature of reality, as well as the cultivation of compassion and clarity in all aspects of life. It stands as a natural expression of a liberated being, forming the foundation for an enlightened way of living that benefits both ourselves and others.
Practice
Ideally held in Nature, Henyō Seed Meditation sessions are designed for both solitary practice and group experience. The journey unfolds in three stages, with the main meditation phase guiding the transmutation of an afflictive emotion or inner state: Recognition (what is present), Tension (what resists), and Integration (what is emerging). This transformation is envisioned as the crystallization of a nourishing, intimate, symbiotic bridge, attuned to the sacred rhythms and subtle energies of the natural world. It takes form through the gentle, successive polishing of three Entada tonkinensis seeds, symbolic of our heart. Buoyant by nature and dispersed by water, these seeds evoke hope, resilience, and latent potential. Through this simple yet powerful act, negative patterns, stagnant energies, and psychological obstacles are gradually softened and reshaped. The polishing becomes an introspective, purifying pilgrimage – an act of renewal through which clarity, balance, and peace may quietly emerge.
The singular approach of the Henyō Seed Meditation has been crafted to be profoundly rooted in eco-spiritual consciousness principles, with Nature as secondary guide:
- Tending: Being awake and conscious with deep, inner self-reflection ;
- Dwelling: Being with the seen and unseen ;
- Reverence: Rediscovering the mystery present in all creation and its embodied sense of the sacred ;
- Connectedness: Cultivating an organic relationship with the Universe ;
- Sentience: Cultivating a sense of knowing ;
This introspective experience therefore gravitates around four main themes:
- Entering a new reality through introspective exploration and growth ;
- Environmental reawakening ;
- Finding a new rhythm in tune with the essence of Life ;
- Manifestation of a healing environment ;
UNFOLDING OF A HENYŌ SEED MEDITATION EXPERIENCE (FULL PRACTICE, ~80 MINUTES)
- Preliminary meditation (intention setting)
- Soft gazing at the bowl containing the submerged seeds
- Primary meditation (transmuting afflictive emotions through seed polishing and silent contemplation)
- First seed – Recognition: Noticing what is present, what is carried. Observing what arises while polishing with acceptance and detachment
- Second seed – Tension: Noticing what resists, where resistance appears inviting awareness of discomfort, impatience, memory while polishing with forgiveness and compassion
- Third seed – Integration: Noticing what remains, what is emerging emotionally. Polishing becomes softer, less corrective, more receptive, and is done with clarity and gratitude ;
- Closing meditation (final release)
- Soft gazing at the seedless water bowl ;
- Water release: what has been settled returns to the earth ;
- Mettā echo-breathing with short sound bath (with fujara) ;
